The Care Quality Commission annual report: “ When trends could be compared, the figures showed record numbers were unable to see midwives as often as they wanted after being discharged. They also revealed 25 percent of women his they wanted to see midwives more often, up from 23 percent last year. Only 70 percent said they saw a midwife as much as they wanted the lowest proportion since 2013….Nigel Acheson CQC’s Deputy chief inspector of hospitals, said the findings were disappointing particularly with regard to women’s mental health”.
