Committee members: Kate Kruza ( and baby Robin ) Lizzie Smith, and virtually: Jasmine Bundock and Louie Mermut,met at Buckland Hospital on Wednesday 7th June with Michelle Cudjoe and Adeline Smith who have been conscripted from Sussex and Surrey Maternity Trusts who in May 2022 received an ‘Outstanding’ rating from the CQC., to solve the problems facing East Kent Maternity Services.

We were well received by these 2 very affable and very experienced midwives and after a very productive discussion agreed on:

1. Looking for a place for Everglow on an appropriate scrutiny type committee or Panel and:

Lizzie took up the offer to join Jasmine on the Maternity Voices Partnership group which is a feed -back information system recently elevated to act as a ‘Bottom Up’ processing machine for improvements to failings.

2. To now use the services of Optimal Birth Prep. ( Molly O’Brien ) whose expertise they were well acquainted with, for midwifery training to enlarge upon the midwifery skills in East Kent and thereby help to reduce birth trauma.

We look forward to liaising with these ladies in the future.
